The objective of the project was to extend the current service life of the Cedar Street Bridge in Peoria, Illinois, by developing detailed steel repair and painting plans to address corrosion throughout the bridge. As a subconsultant to Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE), Canete Medina (formerly cmQue, inc.) assisted in the preparation of final engineering drawings for the rehabilitation of the Cedar Street Bridge.
For this Illinois Department of Transportation project, Canete Medina was responsible for computer-aided drafting (CADD) in the preparation of 42 sheets of design drawings. Canete Medina also developed a FTP site to facilitate online transfers of drawings to and from the design team at WJE. Canete Medina worked at an accelerated pace in order to complete the large amount of drafting needed within a 4-month timeframe as required by the project.
